The Guild

The Gardeners' Guild of Braintree, located in Braintree, Massachusetts, was organized and formed on December 1, 1975.  The Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a knowledge and interest of gardening and ecological sciences for the beautification of our community and support of students pursuing degrees in ecology, agriculture, etc.  No part of its net earnings will inure to the benefit of or be distributable to its members, officers or other private individuals.

The Magnolia, which is the official Guild logo, was presented in May of our first year, 1975-1976.  The Magnolia was chosen because of its connotation of dignity, perseverance and love of nature, ultimately the goals and ideals of the Gardeners' Guild of Braintree.

The Guild holds a plant sale and a holiday house tour each year to raise funds for scholarships, books for local schools, maintenance of various gardens in Town and the Adopt-an-Island Program.  Monthly meetings are held for the general membership on a variety of subjects pertaining to gardening, which are often open to guests.
